About

Ontokinesis Applied Systems is an enterprise organized around one question: how can alienation be healed in practice, and not only described?

The question

One condition, seen from many positions

Alienation has many names: loneliness, estrangement, disaffection, the sense that work, community, and inherited meaning no longer connect to one's life. It appears in households, workplaces, schools, and the arts, and it is usually treated as a separate problem in each place.

Ontokinesis Applied Systems begins from the opposite assumption: that these are one condition seen from different positions, and that remedies tried in one field can inform the others.

The framework

Ontokinesis

The enterprise takes its name from Ontokinesis, a relational account of being developed by its founder. Its central claim is that what exists is constituted through relation and movement between things, and not through isolated substances.

Its sources include Whitehead's process philosophy, Luhmann's systems theory, Levinas's ethics of encounter, Irigaray's philosophy of sexual difference, and Lurianic Kabbalah. Its method is to arrive at general structural principles through close attention to particular cases. Each venture is a place where the framework is put to work and tested.

Structure

One enterprise, several ventures

Ontokinesis Applied Systems is the parent enterprise. It holds the framework, the brand, and the shared standards, and it brings each venture into being as a distinct unit with its own purpose, audience, and agreements. New ventures are added as each is ready.
